Delfim F. Leão is Full Professor at the Institute of Classical Studies and researcher at the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra. His main areas of scientific interest are ancient history, law and political theory of the Greeks, theatrical pragmatics, and the ancient novel. He also has a deep interest in Digital Humanities. He has published more than 190 works in international journals, books and book chapters. Among his main works are D. F. Leão, E. M. Harris, and P. J. Rhodes (eds.), Law and Drama in Ancient Greece (Duckworth, London, 2010); D. F. Leão, and F. Frazier (eds.), Tychè et pronoia. La marche du monde selon Plutarque (Coimbra and Paris, 2010); and D. F. Leão and P. J. Rhodes, The Laws of Solon. A New Edition, with Introduction, Translation and Commentary (I.B. Tauris, London, 2015). 2nd revised edition 2016; D. F. Leão and G. Thür (Hrsg.), Symposion 2015. Vorträge zur griechischen und hellenistischen Rechtsgeschichte (Wien, Verlag der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, 2016). Other scientific and professional activities include the development of two specialized digital platforms: the Classica Digitalia (since 2008) and the UC Digitalis (since 2011). He is (2011-) the Director of Coimbra University Press, and was (2011-2014) the President of the Portuguese Association of Higher Education Presses. He also is currently the Coordinator of the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra (2014-), and was the President of the International Plutarch Society (2014-2017).
